The United States Federal Government provides grant funding to
individuals through Federal, State and Local departments and
agencies to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars annually.
The Federal government provides grant funding to most Federal
departments, which then distribute funding through a myriad of
programs. From the United States Department of Agriculture, to the
Department of Housing and Rural development, every department had
access to and distributes money to help the American people. One of
the largest grant funding departments is the Department of Health
and Human Services (HHS). This department operates "300 grant
programs and awards over $239 billion in mandatory and discretionary
grant funds" every year.

Examples of the types of programs they run include the
TANF
(Temporary Assistance for Needy Families) program, the SSBG (Social
Service Block Grant) program, and the LIHEAP (Low Income Home Energy
Assistance Program).
Federal grant programs are funded using your tax dollars. Millions
of Americans have taken advantage of the many grant programs
available to indirectly get their share back. How about you?
Government grant programs target all aspects of daily life. Are you
eligible to get your taxes filed for free? Do you need help in
supporting a low income senior? Is there help for you to pay your
utility bills, or fix up your house? The answer is yes.
One of the biggest hurdles encountered by those looking for free
grant money is the incredibly confusing process that is involved in
finding grant programs for which they are eligible. Accessing
government money takes time and effort, not to mention patience.
Grant funds typically begin at the Federal government level.
Although there are many federally administered grant programs, most
funding is transferred By the Feds to the State level, and then
becomes a State responsibility. Government grant programs rely on
both mandatory and discretionary grant funding. The same grant
program can be called something different from one State to the
next, adding to the confusion is accessing funding where you live.
All individuals should recognize that the US government isn't
interested in buying their citizens new sports cars. Government
grant funding is directed at a variety of government initiatives,
for example, ensuring that Americans have safe housing, access to
educational opportunities, access to medical services, and so on. As
well, the government attempts to stimulate economic growth by
funding emerging markets and technology. All government grant
programs have at their core the desire to stimulate the health,
happiness, and safety of the US people and the country as a whole.
No independent person, company, organization, or website can
guarantee that you will qualify for a government grant. Do not
believe anyone who tells you differently. The reality is that every
grant available is part of a program that is run by the Federal,
State, or local government and has it's own, unique eligibility
requirements. Only those government employees and departments
responsible for administering the grant program in question can
decide if you qualify for grant funding.
